Activating Youth for the Future of Work
Who we are.
Young Achievement Australia (YAA) began in Australia in 1977 and created a legacy of developing excellent, hands on business skills for students. Between 1977 and 2009, over 190,000 student participants who are now a group of leaders have experienced the “Business Skills Program” (now called the “JA Company Program”) early in their career and have had the benefit of hands-on practical training that proves useful whether going into a corporate career, starting up a business, or pursuing a professional career. In August 2016, the co-founding team for the rebirth of Young Achievement Australia flew to Hong Kong to meet with the JA Asia Pacific headquarters. Discussions were on-going about the return of Australia to the Junior Achievement network and the co-founders were able to meet with key leaders of other JA AP markets and learn about the opportunities available and work required to re-affiliate with JA. In October 2016, the YAA team were privileged to be invited by JA Asia Pacific to sign an affiliation agreement, once again bringing Australia into the global JA network and starting the process of bringing the YAA brand into line as JA Australia.
